The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the 21st edition of the CTET for February 2026. The exam is scheduled to be held on 8 February 2026 Candidates intending to apply must fill the online application form at the official website https://ctet.nic.in as soon as the link goes live.
The CTET is a mandatory eligibility test for those who wish to teach Classes I-V (Paper I) or Classes VI-VIII (Paper II) in central government schools (such as KVS, NVS) and other schools following CBSE norms.Clearing the CTET does not guarantee a job, but it is an essential certificate for teacher recruitment.

Eligibility
For Paper I (Classes I-V)
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (for SC/ST/OBC-PH etc as per rules); OR
Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.
For Paper II (Classes VI-VIII)
Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a B.Ed.; OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a B.Ed. (for reserved categories as per rules). No upper age limit.
CTET Teacher Salary
CTET Level 1 (Class 1 to 5) Pay Scale ₹9,300/- to ₹34,800/- with Grade Pay ₹4200/-
CTET Level 2 (Class 6 to 8) Pay Scale ₹9,300/- to ₹34,800/- with Grade Pay ₹4600/-
