The Bihar Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) is a scheme by the Bihar government that provides financial assistance to students from BC, EBC, SC, and ST categories who are pursuing education after matriculation (11th, 12th, graduation, post-graduation) in recognized institutions.

Eligibility

  1. Permanent residency in Bihar.
  2. Belong to one of these categories: BC, EBC, SC, or ST.
  3. The annual family income should not exceed ₹ 3,00,000.
  4. Currently enrolled in a post-matric course (11th class to postgraduate) in a recognized government or nongovernment institution in Bihar.

Important Dates

  1. The application window for the academic session 2025-26 opened on 15 September 2025 and closes on 15 November 2025 for eligible students.
  2. For the academic year 2024-25, the portal was earlier open from 25 August to 15 October 2025.
  3. The scheme covers tuition fee reimbursement, hostel allowance, book allowance, and more.

How to Apply For Bihar Scholarship

  • Go to the official PMS portal: PMS Online Bihar
  • Select “New Student Registration” or “Login” based on your status.
  • Fill in personal, academic, and income details carefully.
  • Upload all required documents in the format and size as prescribed.
  • Review the form and submit it before the deadline. Download or print the confirmation for future reference.

Important Notes

  • There is no application fee for the PMS scheme.
  • Make sure your institution verifies your application on their portal; unverified or pending applications might delay approval.
  • Regularly check your SMS, email, and the PMS portal for any updates or defect notices.
  • If there is any error in your submission (for example, Aadhaar or certificate rejection), you can make corrections using the “Defect Login” on the PMS portal.
